I don’t believe anyone should be forced to but I also don’t believe it’s them on the government to bend over backward to accommodate to everyone outside of the most common languages.

hard to say. Maybe if they are refugees, this might be more challenging. But if they choose to move here and are below the age of 65, they should learn a level of english.

I don't think they should be made to learn English, but I do believe that is should be recommended to help the immigrants assimilate, and as such government should provide free language learning courses.

No, this should be purely based on the individual's comfortability with learning a new language. For obvious reasons, it would be highly effective to learn the main language of ANY country as to better navigate and access that area's atmosphere and culture. However, it is entirely subjective. If one does not want to learn the language - for example, English - then that is entirely up to their own vices.

 @9K7FW3Q answered…10mos10MO

No, but more free courses and opportunities to learn English should be encouraged as part of a 'settlement scheme'.

 @9K45HKF answered…10mos10MO

Not an obligation, more so a strong suggestion with assistance provided should they wish to learn or improve.

 @9JWXQBNanswered…10mos10MO

Yes, but they shouldn't have to if they don't want to. Cheap programs should be available to any immigrant wanting to learn English to make their life easier in Australia.

For their own good they should learn with a free start and when they earn in this country they may pay the government. If not it will only be harder for themselves. More interpreters will be needed
