Charter schools are tax payer funded K-12 schools that are managed by private companies. In Australia 30% of high school students are enrolled in private schools. All Australian private schools have received some federal government funding since the 1970s. Since 2010, the government has tested an initiative in Western Australia called the Independent Public School (IPS) Initiative. The federal government has shown interest in rolling out the IPS initiative nationwide.

No we should focus on a curriculum that it the same across ALL public schools throughout Australia and increase wages for teachers and all education support staff.

No, private schooling should be funded by the families of those students and not tax payers. Government funding for chartered and private schools should only take place through grants when or if the private school has beneficiaries to the greater community such as outreach programs.

I support Charter schools, if they are self supporting and run like a private business and not funded by the government. Want to run a business, run it yourself without handouts.

No, we should focus on improving public schools and increasing wages for all those who work in schools, including ES staff.

The entire education system needs to be overhauled. It currently only focuses on science and maths and puts too much pressure on students to perform in these areas. There are many areas where young people can succeed and they should be allowed to pursue these areas such as art, music, dance, hospitality, child care etc and not to be made feel less than because of this. Also many things young people need to learn are not covered in school, like money management, superannuation, what your rights are at work. We want successful adults lets give them the tools instead of an inferiority complex. School is only for those who can sit and do brainless activity for 8 hours let make Australia creative and resourceful through giving our children the gift of curiosity.

Statistically they are not better than public schools so I don't see the point of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on education.
@9DXR7GG1yr1Y
Yes and they need to link this to ndis funding to encourage collaborative education
@9VJBDL35mos5MO
Yes, as the current public system does not do well in terms of the treatment of teachers, discipline and has a very sub-standard curriculum.
