Yes, but slightly different to the national security option. Only if the information released doesn't harm our national security in a sense that for example it won't reveal classified strategic documents or reveal names of covert-operatives. They should be protected if the information released reveals actions by the government not in the public interest or if it is a violation of Commonwealth or international law.

Yes, exposing abuses, violations and corruption should never be punished. And all those currently serving sentences should be released and compensated.
