Honestly, the media always finds a way to distract from what actually matters—our national security. Dutton’s $21 billion defence boost is a huge step to keep Australia strong and safe, but all anyone wants to talk about is gender politics. Our military should be about defending the nation, not ticking social boxes. Let’s focus on making Australia secure first and foremost, instead of getting sidetracked by these controversies.

How about we focus on whether the $21 billion actually makes us safer or just grows government, instead of getting sidetracked by social issues?

Trust the media to ignore a serious investment in our defence and instead obsess over Dutton’s totally reasonable stance on keeping combat roles based on merit, not quotas.

It's pretty telling that Dutton's big defence spending pledge is getting sidelined by his outdated views on women in the military. If we're serious about national security, shouldn't we also be serious about equality and making sure our armed forces reflect the whole country? Honestly, it's frustrating to see politicians still dodging the tough questions on both policy and social progress.

It’s pretty telling that Dutton’s big defence spending announcement got derailed by his outdated views on women in the military—maybe he should focus on actual equality instead of dodging questions.
