Is it the duty of the government to preserve a nation's traditional values, or should that be left to individuals?

 @9HCXTZWanswered…1yr1Y

Well, yes, to preserve our individual culture, and so we don't forget who we are, but we can make a few nudges to benefit everyone.

I think it is the duty of the individual to preserve a nations traditional values

 @9HDHN2Hanswered…1yr1Y

Not at all. A government enforcing a particular national identity or traditional values often leads towards fascism.

 @9S3T7NPanswered…4mos4MO

Left to the individuals for sure. Humans, let alone governments should never force beliefs upon others, especially people who are less influential than the government. It's not right, and being forced into something violates many rights and freedoms.

When politicians speak of 'national pride,' how does that resonate with your own feelings and observations within your community?

 @9KX3344Laboranswered…9mos9MO

It's absolutely ridiculous nonsense. My pride in Australia lies within the land. Not the politics of a right-winged party. Australia is a land of culture, diversity, and of caring. I can't trust a politician when they talk about national pride, but it's not their place or job to tell me how or when I should feel pride for my country. Especially when they use it as a scapegoat for their own disgusting ideals.

 @9KX2FYBGreenanswered…9mos9MO

Being proud for the sake of it is egotistical we need progressive policy that make a difference and feats to be proud of to have founded sense of national pride

 @9KX2D9BGreenanswered…9mos9MO

Some degree of national pride is fine, but an exorbitant amount is embarrassing

What changes in your personal environment have led you to either support or critique the current political atmosphere?

 @9L7PXK4answered…9mos9MO

I believe that “common people” aren't provided with the same opportunities compared to the “elite” which is why I support the “Right-wing populism”. I feel as though there is an unfair advantage with these 2 different kinds of people due to factors such as money and where a person grows, which either helps you in the future or not.
