Should foreigners, currently residing in the United States, have the right to vote?
Yes, but they should not be allowed to vote in local elections
If they cannot vote in Federal elections which holds the most power, why not be able to vote in council?

Should a politician, who has been formerly convicted of a crime, be allowed to run for office?
Yes, as long as they have finished serving their sentence
They still may want to engage in criminal activities whilst in power, and not have Australia's best interest at heart.

No
The re offending rate shows it is possible another crime is committed. Especially in power where the most integrity is needed.
