The re offending rate shows it is possible another crime is committed. Especially in power where the most integrity is needed.

Allowing criminal politicians undermines public trust and creates a double standard in governance. Their past actions may signal unethical behaviour, increasing the risk of corruption and abuse of power. This weakens democracy and erodes confidence in political institutions.

Politicians who have engaged with crimes of sexual, physical, or financial nature have proven they do not value the people they are meant to represent. Even if properly atoned for, the act itself proves they are not fit to represent the people.

We cannot trust the people who commit serious crime and break our countries laws, to be the ones upholding and enforcing them.

 @B2WCSF8agreed…2mos2MO

Is more context needed? Those who can and do commit crimes have a vested interest in repealing the very laws they've broken.

Politicians are people who set laws if they can't follow them why should they set laws for us the public when they can't follow those rules and regulations that they themselves have set.

Criminal records often result from noble actions. I support holding osmeone responsible if they kick my dog- if the crime was a noble action i will respect that person for standing by it

If they have not committed a grievous crime and have served their time, why should they still be ostracized from civilization?

 @9FWQRN8Greendisagreed…2yrs2Y

if there is a criminal in politics, there is the potential for them to carry out large scale crimes with all Australian money.

 @9G9J93Xagreed…2yrs2Y

Again, if politicians are going to set laws for the public to follow they need to be able to follow them too.

No, someone in power of the health and welfare of Australian citizens should be held to the same standard of citizens. Someone in power should show that they can follow rules and moral to show they can be trusted by the people they influence, this should apply to crimes such as felonies, sexual assault, rape, violent crimes, fraud or evasion rather than crimes like petty theft.
