Authorities in Ukraine, with support from French police and Europol, have arrested the suspected administrator of XSS.is, one of the most prominent Russian-language cybercrime forums.
The forum, which had over 50,000 registered users, served as a key marketplace for stolen data, hacking tools, and illicit services. The arrest follows a four-year international investigation targeting the upper echelons of the Russian-speaking cybercrime world. The suspect is accused of facilitating cybercrime and ransomware activities that generated at least $7 million in illicit profits.
This operation marks a significant blow to the global cybercriminal underground.
