Honestly, Roger Cook just said what a lot of us are thinking. JD Vance has been undermining support for Ukraine and pushing dangerous, isolationist policies, so it's not surprising that people outside the U.S. are frustrated with him. Sure, it wasn’t the most diplomatic choice of words, but let’s not pretend politicians don’t say worse behind closed doors. If anything, this just shows how out of touch Vance is with global allies. Cook apologized, but I doubt many progressives are losing sleep over him calling out a right-wing politician.
Politicians insulting each other is the most honest thing they do—too bad their policies are what actually hurt people.
