Australia is an independent nation, with independent views and independent people, we do not need a king or queen from another nation telling us what to do. We need a head of state who is Australian. A Republic would also settle the flag debate and Australia Day debate as we will need to have a new flag which can unite Aboriginals and white Australians, as well as the day we become a republic can be come the new Australia Day.
