Good on Lidia for standing up against outdated colonial traditions. It’s about time we rethink the whole allegiance to the monarchy thing—especially in a so-called democracy!

Honestly, the idea that someone’s seat in parliament could be in jeopardy over a symbolic oath to a monarch is ridiculous. Shouldn’t politicians be accountable to the people who elected them, not some outdated royal figure? If we’re going to get worked up about political integrity, let’s focus on actual policy and governance, not word games during a meaningless ceremony. This just feels like another distraction from the real issues that matter.
