Yes

 @B5GS43Mdisagreed…12mos12MO

There is no benefit to Ukraine being in NATO as NATO is already, on paper, vastly superior to Russia both in terms of the economy and military, it also has a population vastly greater than Russia.

We risk sparking a wider conflict for no obvious benefit.

 @B4Q8BCXdisagreed…1yr1Y

NATO was used to counter the Soviet Union, which was demolished in 1991, so NATO should've been demolished at the same time.

If Australia was seeking safety from China and china invaded Australia, claimed QLD as its own would it be our fault or Chinas?

 @B45H3DKArtsdisagreed…1yr1Y

There are alot of other peoples interests manipulating the situation for their own agenda. It is unfair to believe that we have all of the facts of the situation to make an informed opinion due to manipulation and fake news.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4yrs4Y

No

 @B4B5L43Independentdisagreed…1yr1Y

Allowing another country to invade sets a precedent that’s okay as long as you have a long winded excuse.

 @B45H3DKArtsagreed…1yr1Y

As I stated this situation is beyond a mere yes or no binary resolution. It is complicated and there are many individuals and groups who have their own agenda, who manipulate the situation for their own benefit. Due to propaganda and fake news manipulation it is unfair to say that one person could choose a simple yes or no answer.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4yrs4Y

No, and abolish NATO

 @B4Q8BCXagreed…1yr1Y

From their website:
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949 by the United States, Canada, and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4yrs4Y

No, this should be decided after the current war ends so we avoid a third world war

 @B2L49CSdisagreed…1yr1Y

Russia has every incentive to NOT attack NATO, and NATO has no incentive to attack Russia, as both would like to avoid WW3.

 @B2D7YQ5 disagreed…1yr1Y

Yes Ukraine should join NATO, the risk of nuclear war is very low due to mutually assured destruction and Ukraine needs a security guarantee to prevent Russia from invading again and prevent the chance of dooming another generation of Ukrainians to war

 @9GFQKPFdisagreed…3yrs3Y

It wouldn't have an effect as there would still be a third world war regardless of whether or not Ukraine joined NATO.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4yrs4Y

No, there is too much corruption in Ukraine

 @B4B5L43Independentdisagreed…1yr1Y

Every country has a degree of corruption. That is for Ukraine to solve. It shouldn’t mean that it’s okay to invade that country and slaughter humans and take their land.

 @B2QDGV2disagreed…1yr1Y

Regardless of possible corruption, the safety of its people and security of its borders are more important.

 @B2L49CSdisagreed…1yr1Y

1. There is more corruption in various NATO countries (eg. Hungary) than in Ukraine.
2. Corruption in Ukraine has declined dramatically over the last 5 years, especially during the war, as successive post-dictatorship government have done their best to tackle corruption and oligarchy left over from the era of the pro-Russian dictatorship.

 @B2D7YQ5 disagreed…1yr1Y

There are corruption in many countries and Ukraine is improving on the corruption index. And also weather or not a nation has the security, national liberation and self determination of a should not be determined on how corrupt it is.

 @BBZCLBQLaboranswered…2mos2MO

Yes it SHOULD, BUT once there is a relection to avoid bias, and not a party implemented by Russia or the United States.

 @BBXGKX2answered…2mos2MO

No, because it is actively involved in a large-scale conflict. It should have otherwise joined beforehand, or can do so afterwards.

 @BB2XX3HHEART answered…3mos3MO

Yes and Australia should join NATO as well. Turkey should be kicked out of NATO though and replaced with Kurdish areas like Iraqi Kurdistan etc...

 @B57H42Sanswered…1yr1Y

Ukraine should be free from the coercion of war to make their own decision regarding NATO membership

 @B6G3KTWanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, and a coalition of the willing should be made to support the Ukranians and help force the Russians out.

 @B57NYYHanswered…1yr1Y

Yes; it would be in Ukraine’s best interest, but also in the interest of global peace and stability, for them to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), as Ukraine’s current “neutral” status has done little to deter past Russian invasions, and all but assures their continued vulnerability to Russian onslaught. However, this membership grant is unlikely to occur until after the current Russo-Ukrainian War ends, so, until then, support efforts should focus on providing Ukraine with the resources for them to succeed, against Russia.

 @B4D87R8answered…1yr1Y

Ukraine is a independent nation, Australia is not a member of NATO. Australia has not say in the matter

 @B4CLN3Vanswered…1yr1Y

Why should Australia care whether some Eastern European country wanna join NATO or not? Is not Australia's problem!

 @B4BPF7Tanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, and Australia should join a coalition of the willing in order to kick the Russians out of Ukraine.

 @B3TZ7VFanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, and a coalition of the willing should be formed to force Russia out of Ukraine's territory, Crimea included.

 @9ZTPDVMLaboranswered…1yr1Y

Yes, and NATO should intervene in the Russian Invasion of Ukraine immediately to put an end to Russia's actions.

 @B32RT3FLaboranswered…1yr1Y

Yes, effective immediately, and Russia should be forcibly removed from their internationally recognized territory.

 @B2SXP9Sanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, they should be allowed to do so, along with the EU, and an intervention should be undertaken immediately to force the Russians out and if necessary force a Russian capitulation.

 @B24STGSLaboranswered…1yr1Y

Yes, Ukraine should be allowed to join both NATO and the EU, and a Coalition of the Willing should intervene in the war to remove the Russian Armed Forces from all Ukrainian territory including Crimea.

 @9M8CT84answered…2yrs2Y

No, it would be more likely for Russia to invade Ukraine again, so the only solution for Ukraine is to become a neutral country so Ukraine can ask for help from another country just in case Russia attacks Ukraine and also help to avoid NATO and Russia border in order not to have aggression against each other.

 @KenyaTheKomradeanswered…3yrs3Y

No, Ukraine cant join NATO because of territorial instability which makes Ukraine ineligible to join according to NATO rules

 @9FCTQHNanswered…3yrs3Y

I don't what to say about this, as a year 10 international student I'd say just keep it as normal as possible itself and don't change anything. We have to look at both sides of the situation to bring the best repercussion to everyone.

As long as the civilian has agreed to bring the external amount of happiness and joy to the NATO They should be able to believe in their beliefs towards the japs.

 @933XCFFanswered…4yrs4Y

 @9339ZN5answered…4yrs4Y

I believe that should be up to the Ukraine government to decide for themselves

 @932YY79answered…4yrs4Y

Joining NATO will not solve the problem of Putin's invasion because NATO has also been part of the problem.

 @92ZDPT6answered…4yrs4Y

currently yes but before this conflict l believe Ukraine was against the idea,NATO has to be accountable

 @92XSQ67Laboranswered…4yrs4Y

They should have been allowed to be a part of NATO prior to the current war that Russia started.

 @92TP7CJanswered…4yrs4Y

NO, but the surrounding countries should form there own form of UN and remain Neutral to provide a buffer. NATO has OVER STEPPED! and has caused this global situation. Russia and NATO had an agreement and NATO broke it.

 @92SSQ99Liberalanswered…4yrs4Y

This question is no longer relevant and should be removed. As this should be determined by each country and their stand point. My vote should only be determining the changes of Australian policies and procedures

 @8ZS2JZ5Liberalanswered…4yrs4Y

Each country should determine their policy based on their own best interests.

 @8ZPBC49Laboranswered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZNCHDKLaboranswered…4yrs4Y

Maybe. Depends on how well diplomacy can manage Russia's fears of NATO encroachment on its borders

 @8ZLQ55TSocialist Allianceanswered…4yrs4Y

NATO sucks. Russia invading Ukraine is horrific. BOTH NATO and Russia love war. WAR = BADDD

 @8ZC8VV8Laboranswered…4yrs4Y

Ukraine should be considered as a temporary member of NATO, providing them with the military support to be further evaluated as a potential permident member. Ukraine must be evaluated with the NATO military acting as protection, to ensure the intervention of 'other' countries, is limited and only extends to diplomatic relationships.

 @8Z8W8S9Laboranswered…4yrs4Y

It should be purely Ukraine's decision whether it joins any military alliance.

 @73Q5LM4answered…4yrs4Y

if they want to join and fulfill the requirements, they should be allowed to join

 @8Z3HTL8answered…4yrs4Y

Ukraine has nothing to do with Australian politics, and I doubt 95% know what NATO is or what they actually do.

 @8Z3GHNLLaboranswered…4yrs4Y

 @8ZQSH85answered…4yrs4Y

I’m Australian. We are not in nato, another countries choice to join nato is insignificant. Why is this in a quiz about Australian politics?

 @8ZL3QVKanswered…4yrs4Y

Ukraine's decision to join NATO is for their own Country to decide for themselves, it is not up to another Country to make this decision for them. Just like how other countries don't get to decide with Australia should be removed from NATO. Would you like it if some other country tried to pull that BS with Australia? NO you wouldn't, so don't make decisions for other countries.

 @8ZJ8B93answered…4yrs4Y

 @9B5G37Canswered…3yrs3Y

No, all this would do is encourage more conflict by having NATO directly bordering Russia
