Someone committing a minor criminal offence should not mean they have to leave their career for the rest of their life. Small errors in judgement do not deserve a life sentence and trust can be rebuilt in those circumstances.
Our governing bodies need to be representative of the majority of society. The majority of our society are law-abiding people who cannot be truly represented by those who have chosen to commit a crime.

I disagree, if politicians are going to set rules for the greater public to follow, they need to be able to follow them as well.
