NO. If the crime was committed than they should still be banned from office. If a criminal history prevents standard people from applying to jobs it should also apply in a political setting.

People may change over time, yes, but politics is a dirty business and if they were willing to commit crime in the past, being involved in a dirty business in the present is likely not a good idea
