Help, but there must be regulations to prevent corruption and overreach. A union must only strive for better wages, benefits, and working conditions. Without helping the workers, there will be no economy at all.

 @B2YG9YManswered…5 days5D

Hurt but are still important and necessary to hold the checks and balances for the employee to the employer. If it hurts the economy then companies need to treat their workers better.

 @B2MN3M8Reasonanswered…3wks3W

Trade Unions have a role to play in industrial relations that can both hurt and help the economy depending on the circumstancess

 @B2FW4JXanswered…1mo1MO

Mixed bag on my stance, some good some bad. Also, I feel none of the options provided are fair and balanced

 @9VJBDL3Independentanswered…5mos5MO

Hurt, but they have the potential to help. Also ban political donations and they need to be held accountable for illegal activity AND major economic damage.

 @9K8TZN2New Liberalanswered…12mos12MO

Define 'the economy'. Unions as devised help people, but my hurt the 'economy' of profiteers, rent seekers and speculators whom pray on people.

 @9GBPPS2answered…1yr1Y

Unions should NOT be affecting the economy, instead they should assist with the workers to help increase worker's rights, workplace democracy and increase wages to where it is a living wage.

 @92NZR2NReasonanswered…3yrs3Y

again, not all are the same, hence, each one should be examined based on their policies.

 @92N3D7Wanswered…3yrs3Y

Technically hurt, but are necessary to mitigate abuse and ensure workers are treated fairly

 @92LPKSSanswered…3yrs3Y

I feel that my opinion of unions has been skewed by outside influences, and I don't trust my understanding of them.

 @92GQKCSanswered…3yrs3Y

They can have both, at times they do hurt the economy, but other times they are very helpful and improve the economic outcomes.

 @92FS4CMLiberal Democratanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, but can negotiate wages that are far too high for little to no work.

 @929L6KManswered…3yrs3Y

Hurt, as they have become corrupt and should have their powers limited

 @924QZ6XGreenanswered…3yrs3Y

Hurt, but the purpose of unions is to improve working conditions not help the economy.

 @8ZRHZ2ZLaboranswered…3yrs3Y

They serve a purpose but can be detrimental when run like a business/for profit

 @8ZLMKPHanswered…3yrs3Y

I was in a Union for 40 + years. I was made redundant, which the Union has to sign off on. Never heard from them. No SMS, email , phone call. Nothing. I was discussed

 @8ZJJN3HIndependentanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, but ban their ability to make political donations. They will be obsolete soon as smart contracts will replace lengthy negations

 @8Z9BKK6Socialist Allianceanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, but they are too expensive and inaccessible for most people, also potential employers can discriminate against union members which needs to stop

 @8YCXBDWLaboranswered…3yrs3Y

Trade unions helps workers rights but have no significant impact on economy

 @8Y8Z4CRLaboranswered…3yrs3Y

help in thoery, but most union leaders are in it for themselves in a lot of cases, rather than caring about the people, not always corrupt

 @8Y63RT5Christian Democraticanswered…3yrs3Y

Hurt, originally a good idea, but have become a currupt and have to much power.

 @Yods08answered…3yrs3Y

They keep employers honest. However, it’s the bullying behaviour of the unions that is unacceptable. Maybe reducing some of their powers may weaken some of that element. They seem to do as they please which is unproductive.

 @8VZKN98answered…3yrs3Y

 @8TLMN9RLaboranswered…4yrs4Y

Unions should be A political, they are there for the workers not politicians

 @8T96L77answered…4yrs4Y

Hurt, but the economy is not the priority and the workers outcomes are more important.

 @8PHVVSTLaboranswered…4yrs4Y

Trade Unions are good for the economy when they are of a decent size, however they should not be allowed to reach the same power that they had throughout the late 19th and early 20th century because they become a burden on economic growth as wages become too high and our international competitiveness deteriorates

 @8CJWC2BLiberalanswered…4yrs4Y

depends on the union and situation, sometimes they strong arm in their views

 @97QYKRPanswered…2yrs2Y

I think that it totally depends on what the trade union is campaigning for

 @97QRLTHanswered…2yrs2Y

Hurt, but that is a good thing. Although labor organisations should not be the end goal. The end goal should be to get rid of the phenomenon of wage labouring

 @933PLLVanswered…3yrs3Y

I do not have enough knowledge or understanding of the topic to comment.

 @8YP2T5TLiberal Democratanswered…3yrs3Y

Unions have been historically beneficial but now function as massive power brokers and damage society

 @9CG7G7Sanswered…2yrs2Y

It's the responsibility of government to provide good working conditions through proper regulations.

 @9353BBFanswered…3yrs3Y

Trade Unions help; trade unions establish a sense of unity for workers in a particular workforce, and enable said workers to unite as one voice to improve their working conditions/salary.

 @93L6VQXanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, as a form of collective bargaining but professionalising unions has hurt the movement

 @935R8KWanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, in theory but some have recently become corrupt such as the HSU scandals.

 @932MZ4Zanswered…3yrs3Y

Help, in theory, but have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited, and ban their ability to make political donations the same as big business & the rich
