Of course they're not going to touch negative gearing—politicians will always protect their own interests and those of their wealthy mates. Instead of letting the market work, they keep rigging the system with these tax breaks that just make housing more expensive for everyone else.

It’s pretty disappointing that Labor is shutting down any conversation about negative gearing when housing affordability is one of the biggest issues right now. Negative gearing just helps wealthy investors build up their property portfolios while making it harder for everyday Aussies to own a home. I get that it’s a touchy subject for some, but if we’re serious about tackling the housing crisis, we need to look at bold reforms, not keep protecting the rich. This is just more evidence of Labor moving further away from its progressive roots. They need to start listening to everyday people, not just property investors.
