I feel that people vote on party lines or along independent lines, so if an elected representative changes their stripes after being elected, there should be a by-election held to contest their seat, whether in the senate or house of reps or on various councils. As for the party changing it's policies after being voted in, that is handled via the election cycle, so there primarily needs to be truth in political reporting and advertising in order to hold representatives to account.

I would feel a bit upset by that, its unfair that they would change their policies after voting, the party would be tricking its voters into supporting something they may not condone for moral or religious reasons.

pretty bad and would want to change parties if another parties policies are better and would work better

I would be very annoyed - especially if it was a major issue. I understand that some people run on policies that they don't fully understand until they get into government but to take a majoy swing would be disappointing

I think we need more adaptive leadership. The idea of election promises is outdated and childish.
