No, there are just some products we can't make on our own, and may just unneccessarily raise prices.

not as a blanket, but specifically to help domestic industry. and the needs of domestic industry should be determined through a board of industry and union representatives to ensure both business owners and their employees have an equal say

Yes, but only where it's clear the products are cheaper due to lower welfare and human rights situations in the country of origin.

Yes, but only on a selective basis. Tariffs should be applied strategically, as overly broad tariffs can harm domestic industries, while a lack of protection can undermine them.

No, but have tariffs for retaliation where another country has breached trade agreement and tariffs should be a tool to protect certain strategic industries in energy, agriculture inputs and defence

 @9VZ8VMFCoalitionanswered…2yrs2Y

No only for country is the pose a risk to Australia's national security, otherwise free trade should be allowed to run its course

We should become self sufficient in food, clothing and electricity in order to be safe economically during times of economic depression or warfare.

 @9ZTQK9JCoalition answered…1yr1Y

Not as a rule but should use as retaliation for broken trade agreements and for protesting strategic industries in energy, defence anfd agriculture

No, instead let business register their products as Aussie-owned / made. Give discounts rather than add a new tax.

 @932MZ4Zanswered…4yrs4Y

Only on fully complete products. Products that are imported to be used in local manufacturing for domestic & export sales should be exempt

 @92ZDBCJanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, this country should increase tariffs on certain countries such as China.

 @9C4C7NNfrom North Carolina  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if the country was being taken advantage of by other countries.

Chinese + anything that is made by labor below Australian Standards should be taxed 2000%

  @DrewWolfSP from GU  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only where those products are/should be produced here for strategic supply reasons, to ensure local viability.
