Bankers' bonuses are a product of the free market and a reflection of the value that bankers provide. They do an enormous service to the economy, as finance is the circulatory system of a nation's economy. They create value by providing the capital that men and women need to build their businesses, and they rightfully make money by doing so. Any efforts to restrict these bonuses would not just distort the economy, it would be immoral. It would remove the just compensation for the achievement of the most successful among us.
