In the past, Aboriginal people were discriminated and punished by the law as late as the 70s. the vote was meant to have their voice in the constitution to prevent any laws seen in the past from ever happening.
New Zealand is a clear example of a good relationship with the people of the land - respecting them and nurturing their culture.
