Learn more about Pill Testing at Music Festivals
Pill testing is a service that allows users of drugs like MDMA to test their pills for purity before taking them. From 2015-2019 four people died of suspected drug overdoses at the Defqon.1, Stereosonic and Rainbow Serpent festivals in Australia. The 2018 Canberra festival provided free pill testing for attendees. The tests found that less than half of the pills submitted contained pure MDMA. Proponents argue that pill testing decreases the risk of overdoses by educating users about the contents of their drugs. Opponents believe that the practice encourages drug use and that authorities must do everything they can to ban drugs at music festivals. See recent Pill Testing at Music Festivals news
