Social Impact: Research shows that legalizing same-sex marriage has positive effects on the well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals and society as a whole. Studies have found lower rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide among LGBTQ+ individuals in countries where same-sex marriage is legal.
Legal Precedent: Denying same-sex couples the right to marry is a form of discrimination that goes against the principles of equality enshrined in many constitutions and legal systems. Legalizing same-sex marriage is a step towards ensuring equal rights for all citizens.

How is people marrying someone who makes them happy affecting you? let them love who they love regardless of gender

 @9GY5ZC6agreed…6mos6MO

I believe gay marriage is not ok. I believe in the Bible. One of the commands that God left for us was to ‘honour the father and the mother of thy spouse. Thou shalt not wound with anger, cut with cruel words, or kill hope. Thou shalt not commit adultery, in thought or in deed. Thou shalt not rob one another of attention, esteem, affection, or kindness’. This is what the bible states and i believe it.

It isn't their choice, whether they love the same sex that they were assigned when they were born. It's not like someone randomly went, okay we're going to make this one gay and this one lesbian. They should be able to marry the same gender.

Gay marriage is the same as marriage. Just different genders. People deserve to have a happy life with someone they love, regardless of sexuality.

If your argument is that it is in disagreement to your religion, then why should anybody that is not apart of your religion be allowed marriage? If marriage is truely linked to your religion, then anybody who does not follow your beliefs should not be married. Whilst no church should be forced to marry same sex couples if it is against their beliefs, people should still be extended the same respect as your rights to your beliefs and practices as their own.

State and church are seperate in Australia so therefore the basis of marriage being between 'man and woman' DIRECTLY violates the Sex discrimination act based on your gender and your partners. #Loveislove

Other people's sexuality has nothing to do with you. It doesn't affect anyone, so why should your individual beliefs matter more than another person's livelihood? A few arguments use the Bible as support, but Jesus never said one word against homosexuality, In all of his teachings, Jesus condemned oppression and social injustice. Saying 'No' to same sex marriage is social injustice.

christians have had marriage since the start of the christian religion and therefore gay people don't get married but something else.

 @9GXZJ6RLiberaldisagreed…6mos6MO

Nobody should force upon who you need to love based on gender. Everybody gets a choice on how they want their life.

 @9GHBTXRdisagreed…7mos7MO

I support Gay Marriage. This is because love is love, people should be able to marry who they wish if they are truly in love with.

 @9F7DPN9agreed…8mos8MO

you cant have any kids and you're just disrupting the natural selection of man kind and it is a sin in the bible.

 @9LQPT3MGreendisagreed…4wks4W

Gay marriage is not impacting you negatively and they deserve the same rights as everyone else. This is a secular nation so religion should not dictate this.

 @9FVH5KBdisagreed…8mos8MO

people don't get to choose who they love so why should politics decide who they get to marry? not allowing gay marriage rights is discriminatory and unjust.
